Sermon Notes

“Help for your Trauma”

Psalms 23: 5 “Ye do I want through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me.”

This word of encouragement today is comprised of four simple points based on this familiar passage.

  1. Ye do I want (experience)

  1.  Valley (unhealthy environment)

  1. Shadow of Death (Trauma)

  1.  Fear no Evil (Courage)

  1.  Courage (Help)

Three questions for us today:

  1. Are you aware of your trauma (injury) and the pain that you carry?

  1. Are you in an unhealthy environment?

  1. Are you aware of the presence of God?

What steps do you take to manage stress, trauma, and pain?

Here are few suggestions:

  1. Self-Reflect

  2. Spend quiet time/meditate

  3. Execise

  4. Read spiritual materials

  5. Talk to mentor or trusting person

  6. Seek God/Strengthen your Faith

  7. Seek counseling/professional help

Additional Sciptures:

James 1:12 – Reward for Perseverance

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him."

2. Romans 5:3-4 – Character Through Suffering

"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."

3. Psalm 37:23-24 – Guided Steps

"The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand."

4. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 – Unbroken in Christ

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."

Sermon Notes

Sermon Title: "Joy, The Fuel of Vision"

Key Scriptures:

Hebrews 12: 2

Habakkuk 2:3

Jeremiah 29:11

Key Points:

1. Jesus shows the power of focus and vision.
2.  We must know where we  are going and clearly see the future/the thing (Vision)
3. The key to achieving one's vision is to have motivation, enthusiasm, and joy on the journey.
4. The bible says: For the Joy that was set before him. His motivation was something bigger than himself—the redemption of the world.
5. His joy allowed him the endure.
6. The Prophet Habakkuk says write the vision and make it plain, and if the vision tarries (delayed), wait on it
7. Do you fall apart n the midst of your delay, the hard times, the struggle of the journey?
8. There must be joy within your journey. Happiness and satisfaction can add fuel to your journey. Are you enjoying what you are doing and where you are headed?
9. My prayer is that you find joy. My prayer is that you are satisfied with who you are, where you are headed, and what you have accomplished.
10. Maybe there is more in you then you think! May we follow the path of Jesus and find joy on our work. When we are the hand of God, we know we are in good hands (Jeremiah).
